Melody C. Gaulden, CPA

Founder & CEO

Melody Gaulden is the founder of Arc Advisors, where she leads the firm’s international tax practice and advises businesses and individuals on cross-border tax planning, compliance, and consulting. She works extensively with foreign-owned US companies, US businesses with foreign subsidiaries, and clients with international estate, trust, and reporting matters. Her experience also includes assisting taxpayers with offshore voluntary disclosure and delinquent filing matters.

Before founding Arc Advisors, Melody was a partner at Elliott Davis, where she led the firm’s international services practice. She earned dual bachelor’s degrees in Accounting and Spanish from Converse University and a Master of Professional Accountancy with a specialization in taxation from Clemson University. She also attended Moore Global’s International Tax School in Prague and earned the AICPA Certificate in International Taxation.

Melody is a frequent speaker on international tax and cross-border business topics, presenting for CPA societies, professional organizations, and business and community groups. She has also served on the boards of Greenville Literacy Association, Upstate International, and The Family Effect.

Outside of work, Melody enjoys hiking at Paris Mountain, trying new recipes, dancing the tango, and spending time with family and friends.


Nathan Doucette, CPA

Senior Manager

Nathan Doucette is a certified public accountant with a broad background in public accounting and extensive experience serving foreign-owned businesses. Before joining Arc Advisors in 2023, he spent seven years with an international CPA firm, providing financial statement attestation and tax compliance services to companies with US operations.

His experience across both assurance and tax gives Nathan a well-rounded understanding of the financial, reporting, and tax considerations businesses face. He works closely with clients to anticipate challenges, identify opportunities, and provide practical guidance as their needs evolve.

Nathan is passionate about learning and enjoys sharing that knowledge with clients and colleagues. He strives not only to solve problems, but also to help others better understand the issues and resources available to them.

Outside of work, Nathan and his family enjoy traveling, working out together, and being actively involved in their local church.


Bladimir Vargas

Senior

Bladimir Vargas is a valued member of the Arc Advisors team, known for his perspective, dedication, and social skills. He earned his degree from the University of South Carolina, where he majored in accounting and minored in economics. 

Since joining Arc Advisors in the summer of 2023, Bladimir has been steadily expanding his accounting expertise while completing his bachelor's degree. His experience has increased his proficiency to include both U.S. tax regulations and international tax compliance. Bladimir offers a bilingual perspective to our team as he is fluent in both Spanish and English, which increases our team's ability to serve a diverse clientele and handle cross-border tax rules.  

Bladimir's passion for learning and growing professionally is matched by his careful attention to detail and strategic mindset. He always takes initiative, offering creative solutions and ideas that help our firm succeed. He’s already passed parts of the CPA exam and is working on completing it.

In his personal time, Bladimir values quality moments with his family, especially his numerous nephews, and friends. He is an avid traveler who enjoys exploring new cultures and forging new connections.


Diego Jaramillo

Staff

Originally from Cali, Colombia, Diego Jaramillo came to the United States on a full-ride soccer scholarship and earned dual bachelor’s degrees in Finance and Accounting from Anderson University. He later received a Deloitte scholarship to complete his Master of Science in Accountancy, with a concentration in Financial Markets and Transactions, at Wake Forest University.

Before joining Arc Advisors, Diego spent nearly two years in a co-op role with Bosch Rexroth, where he gained hands-on experience with corporate accounting, financial reporting, and internal processes. Fluent in Spanish and English, he brings an international perspective that supports clients with cross-border operations and reporting needs. He is currently pursuing his CPA licensure and continuing to build his experience in international tax planning, compliance, and advisory services.

Before beginning his accounting career, Diego played professional soccer in Colombia and later competed as a collegiate student-athlete in the United States. Outside of work, he enjoys soccer, travel, staying active, and spending time with family and friends.


Seth Evans

Staff

Seth Evans joined Arc Advisors as a staff accountant after graduating from Anderson University in May 2026 with degrees in accounting and finance. He is currently pursuing a Master of Science in Accountancy, specializing in Taxation, at Wake Forest University while also working toward completing the CPA exam.

Seth first joined Arc Advisors as an intern in June 2024, where he gained experience supporting the firm’s domestic and international tax work. He has also completed an audit internship, which gave him additional experience with financial reporting, internal controls, and the broader accounting needs of businesses. After graduation, he returned to Arc as a full-time member of the team.

In his current role, Seth assists with tax compliance, research, and client projects while continuing to build his knowledge of domestic and cross-border tax matters.

Outside of work and school, Seth enjoys playing the piano and tennis.
